Paris St Germain are still keen on signing Angel di Maria despite the fact he joined Manchester United last summer in a club record £59.7m deal.
The French side were heavily linked with Di Maria last summer and were expected to make a move for him but Financial Fair Play rules stopped their interest from going any further.
The Mirror’s David McDonnell says that Man United have no desire to let Di Maria leave but it hasn’t stopped Laurent Blanc from identifying the Argentinian as a target for this summer.
When the season started, Di Maria’s form was electric. He immediately looked worth every penny of the club record fee Louis van Gaal paid for him but after a blistering start, his season has been disjointed and indifferent.
Thanks to a series of injuries, niggles and off the field events which have affected him, Di Maria has played a peripheral role which has been disappointing given how well he played earlier in the year.
So, it comes as no surprise to see the PSG rumours starting up once again and although van Gaal may have no intention of selling him, a £45m bid would not simply be ignored.
If Di Maria does stay, fans are expecting him to deliver the sorts of performances which made him one of the Premier League’s best players at the start of 2014/15.
