Andreas Pereira has been included in Brazil’s squad for the upcoming U20s World Cup this summer.
The 19-year-old earned his first call up to Brazil’s U20s earlier this season having broken through into Manchester United’s first-team squad and his inclusion is a testament to the fine year of progress he has made as a player.
He will take part in the tournament which begins on 30 May and if Brazil were to go all the way to the final then they will be there until 20 June, which is still a few weeks before Man United’s pre-season tour begins.
Pereira made his senior Man United debut in the Capital One Cup defeat to MK Dons and Louis van Gaal gave him his Premier League debut in the home victory over Tottenham Hotspur at Old Trafford and this call-up is the latest positive aspect in a great season of progress.
The experience of being involved in the U20s World Cup will no doubt help Pereira improve and it is a great opportunity for him to impress van Gaal ahead of the pre-season tour.
