Real Madrid concerned Manchester United will refuse all offers for David de Gea – report

Another day, another update over the future of David de Gea. This time, The Telegraph’s Mark Ogden reports that Real Madrid are growing increasingly worried that Manchester United will reject all offers for the Spanish goalkeeper this summer and refuse to sell him.

With some reports suggesting Man United are confident of agreeing a new contract with De Gea at the same time as others say it is actually the Madrid camp who is confident of a deal, there is a great deal of confusion at the moment.

Ogden’s suggestion of stubbornness from United in the face of any approach from Madrid is precisely the attitude Ed Woodward needs to have. Unless De Gea puts in a public transfer request, United need to play hardball.

The £80m signing of Cristiano Ronaldo has turned out to be one of the bargains of the century and although the keeper only has only year left on his contract, United would need to make sure they got as much market value for De Gea as possible.

That being said, no United fan wants to see De Gea leave and the club taking a strong stance against any advancements is the best case scenario.

It’s going to be a long and arduous summer with regards to De Gea’s future until he either leaves or signs a new contract. Until then, we’re expecting this to turn into a transfer saga very quickly.
