Ander Herrera has thanked Manchester United fans for their continued support after being named April’s Player of the Month.
It’s the second time Herrera has been named Player of the Month and seeing as prior to February he was kept out of the starting XI, it’s indicative of just how well he has done since being given a first-team position on a permanent basis.
The Spanish midfielder is already a firm fans’ favourite and that feeling will only grow with every strong performance he continues to put in.
“Thank you very much to all our fans,” Herrera said.
“I feel your support and I hope I can keep improving. Thank you very much!”
Bryan Robson also passed comment on Herrera and firmly believes he will be a long-term success at the club.
“A big part of our recent improvement is down to Herrera’s form,” Robson said.
“I’ve liked him since he arrived because he has loads of energy, closes people down and is always on the move, making space for himself. It took him a bit of time to get used to the Premier League and really pin down a place, but he’s found his feet.
“He’s also got the timing to get into the box and score goals – which is what he’s doing at the moment – and United fans have always loved midfield players who are capable of that. I think he’s going to be a really good player here for a good few years.”
Within the space of a week, Herrera has received glowing praise from both Scholes and Robson who are two of United’s greatest ever central midfielders. If that doesn’t serve as a testament for just how impressive he has been then nothing will.
