Manchester United fans have understandably become nervy when it comes to negotiations surrounding the future of some talented teenagers.
Ever since Paul Pogba‘s somewhat acrimonious departure was followed by his transformation into one of the world’s best central midfielders, there has been an underlying fear of missing out when it comes to other youngsters.
As it turned out, the knee-jerk panic was unnecessary. Pereira rejected advances from other clubs, potentially offering more money, to pledge his future to van Gaal’s United side and fans were certainly delighted to see him sign on the dotted line:
Great news that Andreas Pereira has signed a new contract @ManUtd very promising talent that given the chance could be a great player.

If Pereira did indeed turn down a bigger offer from Paris St Germain to stay at United, then he will have gone up a notch in everybody’s estimations straight away because it shows commitment and a desire to be a United player.
It’s more than likely Pereira will be named Man United’s U21s Player of the Year at the end of season awards and if the last two winners (James Wilson and Adnan Januzaj) are anything to go by, Pereira will be making more than just cameo substitute appearances next year.
