Manchester United looked to have finally got their act together with a recent six-game winning streak which included wins over the likes of Manchester City and Liverpool.
However, Louis van Gaal’s side suffered their third defeat in a row against West Bromwich Albion on Saturday, leaving their Champions League qualification hopes in the balance.
Desperately out of ideas, United were continually blocked out by West Brom as Chris Brunt’s goal sealed a 1-0 win.
Robin van Persie had a chance to level things up from the penalty spot, but he spurned the opportunity in an episode which summed up United’s day.

West Brom keeper Boaz Myhill did produce a number of good saves late on but United cannot use that as an excuse for the result. They have to be much better, and quickly.
