Manchester United might not have been at their best against Crystal Palace this weekend but they came away from Selhurst Park with three points, thanks in no small part due to another heroic performance from David de Gea.
It put an end to a three game losing streak and means Louis van Gaal‘s side head into the upcoming Arsenal game with Champions League football all but secure.
Thanks to Liverpool’s draw against Chelsea, United are six points ahead of them in fourth place with two games remaining. United now need to lose both of their next games, Liverpool must win theirs and a 14 goal swing is needed for Van Gaal’s side to drop to fifth. All in all, it’s very improbable but not impossible.
It lessens the pressure on Sunday’s game against Arsenal but Van Gaal will still want all three points. That being said, there could be plenty of changes to the team that faced Crystal Palace thanks to new injuries.
If that happens, Falcao might be handed a rare start and given the FA Cup defeat to Arsenal earlier this season at Old Trafford, fans will be desperate to avoid a defeat.
Do you think Falcao should start if Rooney is injured? If not, who should?
