Former Real Madrid goalkeeper Agustin Rodriguez believes Iker Casillas and Cristiano Ronaldo will both leave the Bernabeu this summer.
Meanwhile, Ronaldo has been visibly frustrated with his team-mates in recent weeks following a number of poor results and he has been annually linked with a Madrid exit, so it comes as no surprise to hear the reports surfacing.
Rodriguez was adamant that both players will leave Madrid and revealed their futures could be decided after the Champions League semi-final with Juventus on Wednesday.
Speaking about the pair, Rodriguez said: ”I think Iker Casillas is going to go, genuinely. And Cristiano, too. I’m certain on that.
“We’ll see in the news that comes out next Wednesday.”
You would imagine that it would be highly unlikely for Madrid to let both players go easily given their stature at the club but as recent transfers of Angel di Maria and Mesut Ozil taught people, Madrid don’t always do what people expect them to do.
Casillas is a Madrid legend and has won numerous trophies with Los Blancos while Ronaldo is on course to become their highest ever goalscorer and the hope for United fans is that Madrid decide to persist with Casillas so De Gea can stay at Old Trafford.
