Pereira recently signed a new contract at Old Trafford following months of speculation over where he would be playing next season.
The Belgian was handed his Premier League debut against Tottenham Hotspur earlier on in the campaign but the signing of Depay may limit his opportunities heading into the future.
However, Pereira is unfazed by Depay’s arrival and insisted he is confident in his own ability.
When asked about Depay, Pereira said: ”I am not worried about that.
“I like to have a challenge. I am not scared of the challenge. I know it will be hard. Some of the best players in the world are in the team.
“But I have confidence in myself and if I keep doing the things I am doing now, I think I will achieve it. I know there are world class players but I have faith in my ability.”
Man United are one of the biggest clubs in the world so it is only natural for there to be competition for places in the starting XI.
Pereira will find it difficult but fans have to remember he is still only 19-years of age. He is in the very early stages of his development and must be patient. With United back in the Champions League next season, he should have more chances to feature in the team.
