Andreas Pereira believes he made the right choice to stay at Manchester United because they are ‘the best football club in the world’.
Paris Saint-Germain, PSV Eindhoven and Juventus were all said to be interested in signing the 19-year-old earlier this season.
However, Pereira eventually agreed a new contract with Man United at the start of May which put an end to the speculation.
The player insisted he is happy at United and is convinced he made the right decision to stay.
Speaking about his situation, Pereira said: ”I wasn’t busy with all the things that came on the news about me. I was just focussing on my football here.
“I knew I wanted to stay at Manchester United because United is the best football club in the world.
“I want the people around me to like me. If you feel confident and people show they like me and know I have potential. I am very happy to stay here.”
Louis van Gaal has shown during his time in charge of United that he is fully prepared to give youngsters an opportunity in the first-team.
Paddy McNair, Tyler Blackett and James Wilson have all made the step up from the U21s and Pereira was given his Premier League debut against Tottenham Hotspur earlier in the campaign. He has bags of potential and will undoubtedly feature in the first-team much more next season despite the arrival of Memphis Depay.
