PSV set to take big risk with Memphis Depay despite his injury risk

PSV are set to play Memphis Depay in their final game of the season against ADO Den Haag despite the fact there are substantial injury risks.

The 21-year-old is expected to complete his move to Manchester United early next week by undergoing a medical in Manchester but PSV are likely to play him on Sunday against ADO Den Haag.

As it is an artificial pitch, the risk of injuries is increased but reports from the Dutch media suggest he will be given a send-off in PSV’s final game.

Many expected PSV to remove the risk and keep Depay out of his final game for the club in order to make sure nothing can get in the way of his big money move to Man United next week but the latest reports say he’ll play some role in Sunday’s game.

Roughly translated, Rik Elfrink, who was actually the first person to break the story of Depay’s move to United, says the 21-year-old winger will play on Sunday.

United fans, and PSV management alike, will be hoping Depay’s involvement in Sunday doesn’t get in the way of any move to United next week.

Ruud van Nistelrooy’s knee injury stopped him from moving to United in the past which will give PSV plenty of things to think about but Depay is in great physical condition ahead of Sunday.

So long as he can avoid injury, Sunday will be a great occasion for Depay to say a proper goodbye to PSV ahead of his move to United.
