David de Gea has thanked Manchester United fans for their ‘unbelievable’ support during today’s game against Arsenal.
Fans inside Old Trafford were singing chants for De Gea from the first whistle and made it abundantly clear they want the Spanish goalkeeper to stay at the club.
The 24-year-old then had to be taken off with an injury before full-time and was given a standing ovation by fans in what may well have been a goodbye gesture from Louis van Gaal.
De Gea’s future at Man United currently looks uncertain as he has not signed a new contract and Real Madrid are intensifying their interest in signing him.
United fans are understandably concerned that one of their best players could leave the club and it’s certainly going to be a long summer with regards to his potential transfer to Madrid.
