Memphis Depay capped off a stunning season in the Eredivisie by picking up the Golden Boot awarded to the division’s top goalscorer.
With 22 goals, Depay’s goalscoring record in the Dutch league last season was unrivaled and it was only his team-mate Luuk de Jong who also broke the 20 goal mark for the season with 20 to his name.
We’ve mentioned it before but the fact Depay was able to score 22 goals from a winger’s position is superb and very much indicative of his style of play as he is more than capable of cutting inside to shoot.
Depay is also a dead ball specialist and was one of Europe’s finest free-kick takers during the 2014/15 season.

Having now completed his medical at Manchester United, the 21-year-old simply has to wait for the summer transfer window to open in order for him to have his move ratified by the Premier League.
Up until this point, United have never truly replaced the goalscoring threat of Cristiano Ronaldo from the wings since he left but there is real potential in Depay to step into that void at the club.
