Memphis Depay voted Eredivisie Young Player of the Year

Memphis Depay has been named as the 2015 Eredivisie Young Player of the Year after a wonderful season with PSV.

The winger scored 22 goals on route to helping PSV win the Eredivisie title for the first time in seven years.

He was certainly one of PSV’s most influential players across the 2014/15 campaign and deservedly has received plenty of plaudits off the back of what was his breakthrough season.

His form earned him a move to Manchester United which he is now on the verge of completing having passed his medical at the club.

It’s been a great 12 months for Depay that all started with some excellent performances for Holland at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil last summer.

Under Louis van Gaal, Depay was one of Holland’s most impressive players and did enough to earn a big move in Europe. However, he decided to stay with PSV and was determined to win the Eredivisie with them.

Depay did precisely that and will move to Man United having accomplished what he wanted with PSV. Hopefully, next year he will be named the Premier League Young Player of the Year after an outstanding first season at United.
