Vanja Milinkovic can’t wait to get his Manchester United career started and is looking forward to working under Frans Hoek.
The 18-year-old Serbian goalkeeper was signed by Man United last summer and sent back on loan to FK Vojvodina where Louis van Gaal bought him from.
Having spent his final year with the club, Milinkovic will now come in and play for United’s younger sides.
“In England, I will operate under the instructions of Frans Hoek, the Manchester United goalkeeper coach,” Milinkovic said.
“It will not be a problem. I’ve talked to him on several occasions. He’s direct and honest. He says things to your face about what is needed. I love that attitude.”
Speaking about the move, Vojvodina’s goalkeeper coach Boris Nagy revealed how closely United had been watching Milinkovic and are well aware of his progress this season.
“We’ve maintained a close cooperation through constant contact.
“A video of every match for Vojvodina is sent to England, with my assessment of how he (Milinkovic-Savic) played, what worked well and what can be improved.
“Therefore, the experts at United know everything about him, to the smallest detail.”
It’s going to be tough for Milinkovic to break through into United’s first-team given that he has so many goalkeepers in front of him. However, that might not be the case by the time next season starts.
