Manchester United have agreed personal terms with Valenciennes defender Dayot Upamecano, according to L’Equipe in France.
The 17-year-old was linked with a move to Man United in January and reports back in April suggested a move for him to Old Trafford was back on.
Arsenal were also linked with Upamecano but L’Equipe reports say United have managed to secure a deal to sign him ahead of the Gunners.
All that would be left to do is for United to agree a fee with Valenciennes over his transfer and the move can be completed.
United really are making a lot of movement in the transfer season and the window hasn’t even opened up yet.
Both Memphis Depay and 16-year-old goalkeeper Ilias Moutha-Sebtaoui have been signed while the likes of 21-year-old Sam Grimshaw has confirmed he will come back to United in July for a second trial.
You can’t underestimate the importance of signing top quality youngsters because as important as the first-team is, United should never forget their roots in helping young talents blossom into world stars.
