Manchester United have announced that Radamel Falcao has returned to AS Monaco now that his loan spell has expired.
Falcao will now go back to Monaco and puts an end to short and indifferent spell as a Man United player.
The 29-year-old endured a very dull season at United having only scored four Premier League goals and it would have been a big surprise to see Louis van Gaal extend his loan spell.
For wages in excess of £250,000 a week, Van Gaal would simply not have been able to justify spending that on a new deal with Falcao, so it’s certainly the right decision to let him go back to Monaco.
United fans are well aware that with a strong pre-season under his belt, Falcao could return to his goalscoring ways next year but it was never going to Van Gaal who took that risk on him for the second year in succession.
We wish Falcao the best of luck wherever he joins so long as it isn’t another team in the Premier League and want to thank him for an excellent chant.
