Louis van Gaal has confirmed Manchester United are waiting to hear from David de Gea over whether he wants to leave the club this summer.
De Gea has constantly been linked with a move away from Man United this summer thanks to interest from Real Madrid and the fact Iker Casillas is no longer guaranteed first-choice any more, for either club or country, has given legs to the reports.
As De Gea has just one year left on his current contract, United have been negotiating with him and his representatives over a new deal with the club over the course of this season. However, no agreement has yet been reached.
Speaking after the 0-0 draw with Hull, Van Gaal made it clear that the club were now simply waiting on De Gea to make his decision.

The mere fact De Gea hasn’t made his mind up yet is indicative of how tough the decision is for him. In Manchester, he is happy and the fans love him. In Madrid, he has family, friends and his girlfriend all waiting for him. There are clear attractions for both choices.
It is inevitable that De Gea will go back to Madrid at some point in his career but United fans are all hoping that won’t be this season.
