Radamel Falcao has thanked Manchester United as a club and its fans for their unwavering support towards him and insisted he will never forget those gestures.
Falcao leaves having only scored four goals but rarely has there been a new player, especially only on loan, who has won over the hearts of United fans so quickly as the Colombian.
Chants of ‘Lolololololo Radamel Falcao’ were ringing around Old Trafford before he had even played for the club and continued throughout the whole season, right up until he received a standing ovation when he was substituted against Arsenal in what proved to be a goodbye to him from fans.
That standing ovation is something Falcao would never have expected, so he probably genuinely won’t ever forget it and that’s a measure of how supportive United’s fans are.

The same thing happened last season when David Moyes was tearing the club apart but still the fans sung right until the last minute of every game.
It’s a testament to how strong the affection is between the club, its players and fans.
Once again, we wish Falcao the best of luck wherever he goes. If he can regain his full fitness, form and confidence, there’s every chance he’ll be scoring for fun next year but it won’t be for United and that was the right decision to take.
