Radamel Falcao may not have been the prolific goalscorer which Manchester United fans wanted to see but as a professional and human being, the Colombian won the hearts of everybody, including his team-mates.
The 29-year-old never said a word out of place to the press, didn’t moan when Louis van Gaal asked him to play with the U21s and as far as fans are aware, remained committed in training right up until the very end.
It’s a real shame it didn’t work out for him at Man United because Falcao was the sort of player who fans were immediately endeared towards. Never has there been a player on loan who has had such support before he had even kicked a ball.
He may not be a United player anymore but his former team-mates have all sent their best wishes to him and Falcao has, in turn, responded to both Adnan Januzaj and Ashley Young:
I really enjoyed to see your skills every day, thank you and all the best for your career. https://t.co/x2c4MBxqxY

Falcao’s a good guy isn’t he? If it had worked out for him at United, he could have had the same sort of relationship with fans that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer did. He seemed to be that sort of character.
Hopefully he’ll be able to re-invent himself next season and re-find the sort of form which made United take the risk of signing him in the first place.
It was a pleasure to play with you! Good luck on your next step in your life, amigo @FALCAO! ? pic.twitter.com/bJKdzk2WKp
