Sir Alex Ferguson was in attendance tonight for the 2015 Europa League final between Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk and Sevilla.
The 73-year-old is a UEFA ambassador and he’s keeping up appearances by being there for the final tonight. Interestingly enough, he was sat alongside Spain boss Vicente Del Bosque in the stadium.
Hopefully Sir Alex had a quick word with Del Bosque and told him that Juan Mata and Ander Herrera need to be two of the first names in his squad selection for the Spain national team, seeing as both were left out for next week’s upcoming qualifiers.
While he’s there, Fergie should have told Del Bosque to speak to his friends at Real Madrid and tell them David de Gea is going nowhere this summer as well. After all, he signed him back in 2011 and believed in his potential which has has been more than vindicated now.
Fergie would have been delighted with how much De Gea has progressed over the last two years as a player and as for the season under Louis van Gaal, he’ll be happy to see United back in the Champions League.
