If Manchester United bought everyone they will be linked with this summer, they would end up with 100 players in the squad.
Unfortunately, a club of Man United’s stature attracts interest from all over the world and rumours surrounding potential signings are always bound to arise.
Some reports have descended into infamy in recent years, with the likes of Wesley Sneijder, Ezequiel Garay and Nicolas Gaitan brought up again and again in relation to United.
We asked our Twitter followers what their favourite transfer rumour was over the years:

The speculation should remind fans not to get too excited about a potential signing until he signs on the dotted line.
Thankfully, United seem to be getting their business done early this year after bringing in Memphis Depay before the season had even ended.
Hopefully the club will now complete deals for their targets with a minimum of fuss in order to avoid a repeat of sagas such as the Arturo Vidal one last year.
