Marouane Fellaini has reacted angrily towards the press for being misquoted during an interview with French television programme Telefoot.
Di Maria has been linked with a move to Paris St Germain following an indifferent year with Manchester United.
In the interview, the Belgian midfielder stated that Angel di Maria would be a good signing for PSG as he is a great player but feels his quotes have been misrepresented.
Instead of directing the quotes towards PSG, Fellaini insists he simply stated that Di Maria would be a good signing for any team.
Seems I have been misquoted from @telefoot_TF1 interview !!!! ?

I said that Di Maria would be a good signing for any club as he is a great player. I also said if I were him I would STAY at @ManUtd

Ander Herrera reacted in a similar fashion after quotes he said about returning to Real Sociedad in the future were misrepresented to indicate he wanted to leave Man United this summer.
Fellaini has every right to be frustrated but he should have been far more aware of what he was saying. He’s a professional footballer playing for United and knows the eyes of the world’s press are scrutinising every word he says all the time.
It’s good to see Fellaini coming out to quash the quotes as quickly as possible but in future the situation can be avoided altogether if players can be smarter during interviews.
