Laurent Blanc: Dani Alves will not join Paris Saint-Germain

by Sam Peoples

Dani Alves will not be joining PSG this summer as Laurent Blanc has completely denied rumours of the full-back joining his team once his Barcelona contract expires this year.

The Brazilian defender has already announced his intention to leave Barcelona this summer and there has since been a lot of speculation about Manchester United signing the experienced 32-year-old.

PSG have also been linked but Blanc has categorically ruled out the Brazilian moving to Paris this summer.

“I can say that Dani Alves will not come to PSG,” he said.

“Alves’ contract with Barcelona is ending and he wants to renew with them. At the end of the day, this is all a game.”

If United are indeed pursuing Alves then news of PSG ruling themselves out of any deal is certainly a boost.

United are expected to sign a right-back this summer as Louis van Gaal is believed to have lost faith in fans’ favourite Rafael da Silva.

Nathaniel Clyne has also been tipped for a move but the latest reports suggest Van Gaal isn’t interested in signing the Southampton defender, and there aren’t too many right-backs available in the current market.

Real Madrid’s Dani Carvajal faces an uncertain future at Real Madrid now they have signed Brazilian defender Danilo from FC Porto, but there are no guarantees he’ll be leaving the Santiago Bernabeu this summer.
