Manchester United ‘table interesting offer’ for Sevilla’s Carlos Bacca – report

by Sam Peoples

Manchester United have proposed an offer for Sevilla striker Carlos Bacca, according to Fichajes in Spain.

The Reds are looking for someone who will guarantee goals up front after what was a disappointing campaign in the Premier League season, with Wayne Rooney finishing as the club’s top scorer on only 14 goals.

Bacca has been previously linked with Man United and those reports have now started to intensify following his excellent brace in the 2015 Europa League final.

Having scored 20 goals in 37 La Liga games last season, Bacca has shown his prowess in front of goal and after Louis van Gaal decided not to sign Radamel Falcao on a permanent basis, the club will most certainly be looking to bring in some reinforcements up front.

Last year, United were far from vintage in front of goal and Van Gaal will be keen to pull off a similar sort of signing to Sir Alex Ferguson when he brought in Robin van Persie back in 2012 having lost the Premier League on goal difference in the previous campaign.

As far as reliability goes, Fichajes hasn’t got the best track record when it comes to transfer stories but we’re expecting this Bacca story to continue developing over the next few weeks, especially after the Colombian said it was ‘up to God’ where he would play next season.
