Radamel Falcao is in search of a new club this summer having been released by Manchester United after an unsuccessful loan spell but Valencia fans aren’t keen for the Colombian to join them.
Spanish newspaper Superdeporte ran a poll asking whether Valencia fans would want to see Falcao at the Mestalla next season.
The result was pretty one sided as 76% said they didn’t want Falcao to join them. That’s as big an indication of how far his reputation has fallen given that he was so devastating during his time with Atletico Madrid.
After struggling to acclimatise to the harsh conditions of the Premier League, moving back to La Liga, a league where Falcao is already a proven talent, seemed an appropriate idea but the latest indication is that it will be somewhere much closer to United.
It seems that a serious injury during his time at Monaco and a calamitous season at Man United has dissuaded supporters of some high profile clubs from wanting Falcao, but not Chelsea by the looks of things.
Jose Mourinho’s side are in discussions with Falcao’s representatives over a potential deal to bring him to Chelsea on reduced wages and for a much smaller fee than the £43.2m placed on him by Monaco when he joined United on loan.
