Gianluca Vialli believes Jose Mourinho will help Radamel Falcao get back to his best form if the Colombian decides to join Chelsea.
Falcao joined Manchester United on loan from Monaco last summer but he endured a hugely disappointing campaign.
After scoring just four goals during his time at Old Trafford, Man United announced they would not be keeping the striker beyond the summer.
Despite this, Chelsea have been linked with a move for Falcao and Vialli backed the striker to regain his form under the guidance of Mourinho.
Speaking about Falcao, Vialli said: “Knowing how good Mourinho is at getting the best out of his players, and Falcao is an extraordinary striker, they will be even stronger.
“Can he play with or instead of Diego Costa? I don’t know. But definitely the more great players you have in your side, the better.”
With a full pre-season under his belt, Falcao may well return to the sort of form that once made him one of the world’s deadliest strikers.
However, United simply could not afford to take that risk given his huge wage demands. Supporters will be hoping the decision doesn’t come back to haunt the club but no-one can really blame Louis van Gaal for letting him go.
