Marouane Fellaini scored two goals and set up another in what was an incredible performance during Belgium’s 4-3 win over France last night in a friendly.
The midfielder made the most of a mess in France’s defence and pounced on a loose ball to put Belgium ahead and made it 2-0 before half-time with an excellent goal after a late run into the box.
Marc Wilmots has always remained faithful to Fellaini and his performance against France is indicative of just how much he has improved over the last 12 months.
Fellaini is continuing to surprise Man United fans in all the right ways. At one point, he looked like a broken man but has transformed himself into an important asset for both club and country, which is remarkable given how low he was not so long ago.
Alongside Ander Herrera, Fellaini has been finding the back of the net regularly this year and long may it continue.
The 27-year-old ended his season on a low point after getting sent off for a reckless challenge against Hull City but has begun his summer in the best way possible with this performance against France.
Next up for Belgium and Fellaini is a top of the table clash against Wales in a crucial Euro 2016 qualifier.
