Sami Khedira has ended speculation linking him with a move to Manchester United by signing a four-year contract with Champions League finalists Juventus.
The German World Cup winner endured a hugely frustrating campaign with Real Madrid last season and was often left on the substitute’s bench by manager Carlo Ancelotti.
Khedira was available as a free agent and Man United were said to be considering bringing him in but Juventus have beaten them to the punch.
The Italian giants, who were beaten by Barcelona in the Champions League final, are doing a good job of building on their success after also signing Argentinian Paulo Dybala.
Dani Alves had also been linked with a move to Old Trafford before he signed a new contract with Barcelona this week.
It remains to be seen who Louis van Gaal is looking at instead, with players such as Ilkay Gundogan and Paul Pogba said to be on United’s radar.
