Ben Amos has completed a move to Bolton Wanderers having been released by Manchester United.
The 25-year-old departed the club this week and put an end to a 14 year affiliation with Man United having joined the club as an 11 year old boy.
Amos spent time on loan at Bolton this season and clearly made a good enough impression to earn himself a permanent move.
Despite being at United for so long, Amos was never able to break through and leaves having only made seven first-team appearances thanks to the long dominance of Edwin van der Sar and his immediate replacement David de Gea.
Amos might not have made it at United but he’s certainly good enough to make a name for himself in the Championship and he joins a never ending list of United academy graduates who have gone on to enjoy professional careers elsewhere in the football league.
The writing has been on the wall for a long time with Amos as he hasn’t been able to progress quickly enough but he’ll be afforded more time at Bolton.
We wish him the best of luck and hope he goes on to have a successful career at Bolton or whomever else he might join.
