Memphis Depay set to start for Netherlands against Latvia

Memphis Depay has overcome a foot problem he suffered earlier this week and will start in the Netherlands crucial Euro 2016 qualifier against Latvia on Friday night.

The 21-year-old was in inspired form for the Netherlands during their 4-3 loss to USA but was considered a doubt on Monday having suffered a foot injury.

It’s great news to hear he will be back in the starting XI because as Manchester United fans saw from his performance against USA, he can be a game changer and it was really exciting to see him play so well.

Fellow Man United team-mates Daley Blind and Robin van Persie are also both in the starting XI. However, Blind will play in defensive midfield instead of at left-back and Van Persie will drop into an attacking midfield role.

Having had such a poor start to their Euro 2016 qualifying campaign, it is crucial for the Netherlands that they get three points against Latvia on Friday.
