Jackson Martinez is tipped to join AC Milan this summer but is set to decide if he will move to Serie A or accept an offer from Manchester United or City, reports Gianluca Di Marzio.
The 28-year-old is likely to leave FC Porto and it comes as no surprise to hear that a number of clubs are interested in signing him given his phenomenal goalscoring record.
Martinez has scored 92 goals in 132 appearances for Porto over the last three years and, much like Radamel Falcao in his Porto pomp, is considered one of the most lethal strikers in European football.
Di Marzio reports that Martinez will choose to accept Milan’s offer or one from United or City, who are both willing to offer a bigger salary.
It’s a very bold claim from Di Marzio to suggest Martinez has an offer from United and one that has certainly gone under the radar if true.
That being said, if Louis van Gaal is serious about challenging for the Premier League next year, then he needs a player like Martinez to join this summer because of how poor United were in front of goal last season.
Martinez will be in action this week with Colombia in the Copa America, so if you want to watch him in action make sure you watch the Colombia games.
