Daley Blind celebrates anniversary of special Holland win over Spain

Daley Blind has posted a picture on Instagram remembering the Netherlands shock 5-1 victory over Spain at the 2014 Brazil World Cup one year ago to the day.

It was in that game, the first for Blind at a World Cup, where he made his stunning long ball to fellow United player Robin van Persie who jumped horizontally in the air to head over Iker Casillas.

The goal was the first of many incredible finishes in Brazil during the tournament but one that will always be remembered for its uniqueness and sublime pass and finish combination, eventually being nominated for the Puskas award.

Exactly one year ago, what a day! ?

The Netherlands went on to finish third in the World Cup, with both Blind and van Persie playing a key part under current United manager Louis van Gaal. The Dutch connection to United has continued to grow since then, with Memphis Depay being unveiled as a United player on Friday.
