Video: Memphis Depay’s personal highlights, Netherlands vs Latvia

by Harry Robinson

Lots of Manchester United fans would have tuned in on Friday night to watch Memphis Depay in action against Latvia.

Alongside Man United teammates Daley Blind and Robin van Persie, Depay started for the Netherlands as they beat Latvia 2-0. He made a consistent impact on left flank for the Oranje.

United fans have sat back in admiration of Chelsea’s Eden Hazard who was named PFA Player of the Year for the 2014/15 season but could be doing so for their own player in Memphis who is making similar driving runs to the Belgian.

The driving run below is simply a stunning piece of quality from the £25 million new United signing:

Depay’s quick feet means he can cut inside and keep the defender on his toes before striking a powerful shot, as he often did throughout all of last season with PSV.

His attacking play is extremely direct and after a season involving lots of possession but few chances, United fans will love the sight of their new signing powering down the pitch.

The Dutchman was unveiled at United on Friday daytime and called the club a ‘dream’ while saying he was ‘proud’ to join Louis van Gaal at Old Trafford.
