An official at Brazilian club Internacional has confirmed that an offer of £20m for Rodrigo Dourado would be enough for any club to sign him.
Manchester United’s interest in the Brazilian midfielder has accelerated over the last week following reports in Brazil which went as far as to suggest Dourado’s representatives were going to fly to England and help push through a deal soon.
Many have suggested that United have agreed to pay around £20 million for Dourado while Globo Esporte confirmed that the Reds had sent scouts to watch the player in Brazil.
Speaking to a regional Brazilian newspaper, an official from Internacional admitted: “For that price, Dourado can go there, Diego Aguirre (the club manager), Piffero (the club president) and me.”
So, it appears that despite constant, obvious links between Dourado and Man United, there has been no contact between the player’s club and the club he said would be a dream to join.
The links, even if false so far, are positive for United fans. They have now seen numerous young players linked with the club, Dayot Upacemano has apparently visited United’s training ground already.
