Manchester United fans were concerned when it was announced Angel di Maria would be taking part in the Copa America this summer because of the hamstring injury which saw him hobble off against Hull City.
However, the early signs from Di Maria since joining up with Argentina are very good.
In Argentina’s warm-up international friendly against Bolivia, Di Maria was on the score sheet twice and in their opening Copa America game against Paraguay last night, he looked far more like his normal self.
Di Maria looked much more confident with the ball and posed a real threat to Paraguay all night. He won the penalty for Argentina’s opening and throughout the game looked likely. Even with seconds on the clock, he fired in a great cross to Carlos Tevez who was unable to get on the end of it.
Here’s a few things United fans had to say on Di Maria and his prospects for next season:
What a block by Otamendi, then at the the other end Di Maria flashes a great ball across but Messi fails to convert.

A strong Copa America could be the perfect prelude to next season for Di Maria and if the early signs are anything to go by then he should be having plenty of fun out in Chile.
