Former Manchester United striker Ramadal Falcao has insisted that his loan spell at Old Trafford helped improve him as a football player.
After a nightmare season at Manchester United which resulted in a meagre four goals, the club decided not to extend his loan past the end of last year.
Now, currently back at Monaco, Falcao is lining up a move to Chelsea in an attempt to prove his worth in the Premier League.
Despite the disappointment of last year, Falcao believes the experience helped him to become a more complete player.
“It depends what criteria you are using,” he said.
“People said I was not on the field and not scoring goals. But Falcao was always there.
“The speculation is not true. I am calm. Today, Falcao is a more complete player.”
Sometimes with footballers, losing is just as important as winning when it comes to developing the right mentality to succeed, so last season may well have helped Falcao become a more complete player in showing him what happens when things aren’t going so well.
There are plenty of fans who feel Falcao is finished and won’t ever return to his previous best but on the other hand, some believe his dip in form is purely based around a lack of confidence.
United gambled on Falcao last year but didn’t win. Now, it is Chelsea’s turn.
