Hi Marco. Can you introduce yourself to the readers?
My name is Marco Ripanti. I’m a 43-year-old Italian who is based in Germany. I’m a supporter of TSG 1899 Hoffenheim and have been for many years. I’m also the founder of www.1899.me.
How did Firmino get on with Hoffenheim this season?
Roberto had a great season with Hoffenheim. I think him being left out of Brazil’s squad for the 2014 World Cup served as a motivation for him to show Carlos Dunga exactly who he was.
For Hoffenheim, it was a real pity that they missed the Europa and maybe this is one of the reasons he is now going to leave.
What is his greatest strength on the pitch?
One of his best assets is tackling the opponent very early on and only a few players can the game and situation as well as Firmino.
In the last few years he has also improved his physicality as well. So, I’m sure that during the next three years he will be entering Neymar level 😉
He played the majority of the season as an attacking midfielder. Do you think that is his best position?
Absolutely. In a few games he played as a striker but I think the central position as an attacking midfielder is where he likes to play.
Did he have a good relationship with the fans? If so, what did fans like most about him and was there anything the fans didn’t like about him?
The fans love him. We know him as a young man who had braces when he came to us but he has now grown up and we are part of his family. No matter what, Hoffenheim fans won’t forget Firmino.
Do you think he is definitely leaving Hoffenheim this summer?
I’m absolutely sure of it. This is the one and only decision for him and his future. A player as good as Firmino simply has to be playing in the Champions League.
