Manchester United target Nicolas Otamendi has been named in the 2014/15 La Liga Team of the Season.
The Argentinian was a rock in the heart of defence for Valencia and played a crucial role in their campaign which ended with Champions League qualification.
Man United have been heavily linked with Otamendi this season and the latest from Spain is that United will be stepping up their interest in him with an offer that will be presented this week to Valencia.
Otamendi’s leadership qualities, not to mention his goalscoring threat and physical presence, make him an ideal candidate to come in and sure up United’s lacklustre defence.

The fact he was named in the 2014/15 La Liga Team of the Season in a league which boasts some of the world’s best centre-backs is a real testament to his qualities.
United have failed to replace Rio Ferdinand and Nemanja Vidic since they left the club but Otamendi is a ready made, world class centre-back who could come in and immediately fill that void.
Although United traditionally buy players young and allow them to blossom, Louis van Gaal only has two years left as our manager and wants to win the Premier League, so he will buy ready made quality if necessary and Otamendi fits that bill.
