Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri has hinted about his interest in Manchester United midfielder Angel di Maria.
After a poor first season at Old Trafford, which resulted in only three Premier League goals, the Argentinian has been targeted by several clubs around Europe.
Despite this, manager Louis van Gaal told Di Maria he could leave but only if he wishes too.
Speaking about transfer speculation, Allegri said: “I like Oscar a lot. He’s a player who can make the difference on the European stage as well, which is great as it’s not a given that a great league player can perform in Europe.
“I like him, but I also like Isco, Javier Pastore, Angel Di Maria and Toni Kroos.”
This is precisely the same tactic Van Gaal adopted in signing Di Maria last summer as the Dutchman name-dropped Di Maria in much the same fashion as Allegri, an we all know how that one turned out.
Juventus won’t be the only club who are interested in signing Angel di Maria but the Argentinian has already made it clear he wants to stay and Val Gaal is unlikely to be in any rush to sell him this summer.
