Manchester United eye move for Barcelona youngster Inaki Pena – report

Manchester United are eyeing Barcelona’s young goalkeeper Inaki Pena and will try to convince him to join by offering him a 500 per cent wage increase, according to Spanish newspaper Sport.

Man United are resigned to losing David de Gea this summer with Real Madrid strongly interested in the player’s services.

Pena is widely considered to be one of the most exciting young keepers in world football and he could be a long-term replacement for De Gea.

Louis van Gaal is reportedly so keen to sign Pena that he is willing to give him a 500 per cent wage increase should he come to England.

Pena, who turned 16 in March, is seen as the future of Barcelona and he has a €3m buyout clause in his contract. He is a Spanish U17 international and is highly thought of by coaches at La Masia.

Barcelona will try and convince Pena to remain at the club but they will ultimately not stand in his way if he wants to move on.

However, the player himself is said to be content at Barcelona. Unfortunately for United, it looks like he wants to stay in Spain in order to forge a career for himself in La Liga.
