On paper, Boateng has everything United are looking for in a defender but Bayern’s continued dominance in Germany means they are unlikely to sell Boateng, unless he asks for a transfer request.
United need a centre-back this summer, everybody knows that, but Louis van Gaal will be hoping clubs don’t use that against him in the transfer market and try to take advantage of the situation.
