Manchester United will have two representatives in the 2015 FIFA U20s World Cup final in Andreas Pereira and Vanja Milinkovic.
Brazil and Serbia have come through the tournament to earn their place in the final, which takes place on Saturday, and are now just one step away from winning the prestigious competition.
Youngsters from around the world have been given the opportunity to play the very best and it’s a great chance for them to experience knockout football.
United’s main representative, Pereira, has played an important part in the success of Brazil.
He scored and grabbed an assist with a game changing substitute appearance against Hungary and scored the first penalty in consecutive shoot-outs later on to help his side on their route to the final.
On the other hand, goalkeeper Milinkovic hasn’t featured yet but both will be ready for Saturday’s final.
The performances of Pereira will undoubtedly grab the attention of Louis van Gaal. The 19-year-old midfielder has already announced his ambitions to feature in the first-team next season and he’s certainly done his chances no harm by performing well in the competition.
After making his first appearance in the Premier League last term, Pereira recently signed a new deal at the club until at least 2018 but faces a tough battle in getting first-team opportunities.
As for Milinkovic, he’ll come straight into United’s U21s. He is an unknown entity at the moment, so it’ll be interesting to see how well he plays.
