The agent of Adnan Januzaj has insisted he wants to stay at Manchester United in order to become a “legend” at the club.
Januzaj endured a frustrating campaign last term and he was often left on the substitute’s bench by Louis van Gaal.
This has led to speculation over where his future lies, with the likes of Real Sociedad and Everton reportedly keen on bringing him in on a season-long loan.
The player’s agent, Dirk De Vriese, dismissed the rumours and insisted that Januzaj wants to stay at Old Trafford for many years to come.
When asked about the reports, De Vriese told SportsWitness: ”This is total nonsense. Adnan is feeling good at Manchester United and they don’t want him to leave the club, he is considered still as their biggest talent since many years.
“There was a lot of top teams asking to buy him and a lot of sub-top teams to loan him but he will stay at Manchester United to become a legend in the club.”
It is refreshing to see such a determined stance from a player when others might have complained.
Januzaj’s debut season thrust him into the spotlight and expectations inevitably skyrocketed but it is important to remember that he is only 20-years-old. Most players his age are nowhere near the first-team. The Belgian has both the talent and attitude to succeed at Old Trafford and it is only a matter of time until van Gaal gives him a proper run in the starting XI.
