Manchester United’s Adnan Januzaj has been the subject of transfer speculation in recent weeks but it was refreshing to see him reiterate his desire to succeed at Old Trafford on Thursday.
Januzaj’s agent, Dirk De Vriese, insisted that the Belgian is determined to stay at Man United and that he wants to become a club legend.
It’s a good stance to take given that the player could have complained about his situation given the frustrating campaign he went through last term.
We asked our Twitter followers for their thoughts on whether or not Januzaj has a future at United:
@PeoplesPerson_ as a squad player yes. Potential to get better but imo not a permanent fixture in team.

@PeoplesPerson_ 'club legend' is going around too easily. He needs to fight it out for starting XI. Own his place. Status will come!

@PeoplesPerson_ He should just concentrate on becoming a regular first team player and go from there. Re: Club legend – wow, slow down!

@peoplesperson_ Adnan is a great young player, great talent, United should never let him go.

@PeoplesPerson_ His future is at No.10. He can be very good but has stagnated. Very good technically but needs to improve decision making.

@PeoplesPerson_ He needs to get his head down, keep working, learn the system and impress in training. As we with Young; he'll get chances.

@PeoplesPerson_ Really good players play in a way that makes it impossible for the manager to ignore them. It's up to Januzaj.

There is no doubt that Januzaj has the talent to succeed at the highest level but he may have to accept that first-team opportunities will be few and far between.
After all, he is competing with the likes of Juan Mata, Angel di Maria, Ashley Young and now Memphis Depay.
He should get more chances now that United are back in the Champions League. Whether or not Januzaj takes them remains to be seen.
