Manchester United target Miranda is close to a move to Inter Milan, according to Corriere dello Sport.
The Brazilian defender is out of contract with Atletico Madrid next season and has been identified as being surplus to Diego Simeone’s requirements at the club.
The report states that Atletico have agreed an initial loan deal with Inter for Miranda with the option to make the move permanent in the future for a fee of around €12.5m plus add-ons paid over a period of a few years.
Man United had been linked with a move for the defender but that speculation appears to have been put to bed with the news of Inter’s interest.
Louis van Gaal has prioritised the heart of his defense as an area that needs improvement during the summer and Miranda can now be ruled out.
Who exactly Van Gaal will bring in remains unclear, with a whole host of names such as Nicolas Otamendi, Mats Hummels and Jerome Boating linked with moves to Old Trafford.
