Manchester United have distanced themselves from reports that they are negotiating a deal for Hoffenheim’s Roberto Firmino, according to the Telegraph.
Firmino enjoyed a fine campaign last term and registered 14 goals and ten assists in all competitions for the Bundesliga side.
Man United and Louis van Gaal were said to be interested in the Brazilian but it appears these rumours are wide of the mark.
Liverpool are in for Firmino but is unclear how firm their interest is in the player.
If United really aren’t going for Firmino, it begs the question of who they are actually looking to sign.
The club will need to get someone in sooner rather than later following the departure of Radamel Falcao. There is also a question mark over Robin van Persie’s future at Old Trafford. United really are in for a big summer and their business in the transfer window could make or break a push for the Premier League title next term.
