Former Manchester United striker Louis Saha has heaped praise on reported summer transfer target Alexandre Lacazette.
The Frenchman, who scored for Man United’s Legends team on Sunday, gave his thoughts on a transfer he felt was important for United to complete.
Saha, who scored 42 goals during his time at Old Trafford, spoke to the Manchester Evening News about just how good he feels Lacazette is and what he would bring to United.
He said: “He’s scored many, many goals because he can threaten behind, he can score from far, he’s a very clever player.”
The former Old Trafford favourite also claimed Lacazette would succeed at United.
He added: “Could Lacazette thrive at United? I think so, it’s obvious he’s done really well in France. It’s a must United sign a striker because you always have the need for competition up front. That’s what brings excellence to every player.”
Saha clearly feels this is a transfer United need to make happen for a player who scored 27 goals in 33 games to finish the season as Ligue 1’s top scorer in 2014/15.
After the departure of Radamel Falcao and the uncertain future surrounding Robin van Persie, it is imperative United sign a striker this summer.
With United in need of signing a striker, Lacazette could be an astute signing. Young, quick and a proven finisher, he may prove to be the ideal replacement for Falcao and give United a new lease of life in attack.
