Here’s the latest Manchester United transfer news and gossip.
There have already been lots of rumours about who Man United may or may not be looking to bring in this summer but two targets have now emerged having been confirmed by multiple sources in both Spain and Germany.
First up, Real Madrid’s Sergio Ramos. The Spanish defender is a world-class player and he would certainly soften the blow should David de Gea leave United for the Bernabeu.
As well as Ramos, United firmed up their interest in Bayern Munich veteran Bastian Schweinsteiger. The German’s best years may well be behind him but there is no doubt he would still significantly improve Louis van Gaal’s midfield.
Ramos was the one who took up the most column inches due to the complicated situation with De Gea but not all of it was positive.
London Evening Standard reporter Simon Johnson suggested that the player may be ‘using’ United in order to get himself a better contract while Ray Wilkins stated that he is a ‘red card walking’.
Meanwhile, Spanish football expert Guillem Balague insisted that there is nothing in the rumours after all as Madrid apparently have no intention of selling.
