Juventus have confirmed the signing of Mario Mandzukic from Atletico Madrid for £13.6m.
The 29-year-old spent just one season with Atletico having joined the Spanish side from Bayern Munich last summer and becomes the latest recruit for Juventus who have been very busy in the early stages of the transfer window.
Manchester United were linked with a move for Mandzukic and reports at one stage suggested the Croatian striker was edging closer to Old Trafford, but they proved to be wide of the mark.
After the exit of Radamel Falcao, combined with the uncertain future of Robin van Persie, United are expected to sign a striker this summer but it certainly won’t be Mandzukic.

The Atletico Madrid striker isn’t the only striker to have been linked with United already this summer.
Real Madrid’s Karim Benzema and Olympique Lyonnais’ Alexandre Lacazette are two others who have had their names thrown into the hat, but Louis van Gaal hasn’t been able to bring in a new striker just yet.
